Neil J. Saltzman specializes in family law and matrimonial law. Mr. Saltzman frequently serves as trial counsel or provides consultation and oher services on matters of divorce, maintenance, child support, child custody, visitation, equitable distribution, paternity, orders of protection, contempt proceedings and prenuptial and post nuptial agreements throughout the New York area and internationally. As an attorney admotted an experienced in both Israel and New York, Mr. Saltzman has a special expertise in both family and commercial cases with an international component, including parental child abduction and child relocation cases, the enforcement of foreign support orders, cases involving the validitry of foreign divorces, cases in which one or more of the parties or assets is located in another jurisdiction, the enforcement of foreign judgments, cross-border commercial disputes, international arbitration and related issues.

     Neil J. Saltzman has been retained to provide expert testimony on the Hague Convention on Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, on the status of biological parent’s rights of custody in New York, on the enforceability of religious marriage contracts in a civil context, on the process of private arbitration in Israel and other issues. Mr. Saltzman has been retained by the State of California and the State of Kansas in connection with enforcement of tobacco escroiw statutes in multi- million dollar litigation involving complex multi-jurisdictional issues. Mr. Saltzman has been recognized by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for his outstanding commitment to the protection of children and knowledge of the Hague Convention on Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.

      Neil J. Saltzman, a graduate of the University of Chicago and Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel has been practicing law since 1999. Mr. Saltzman is admitted to practice law before courts of the State of New York, the courts of Israel, before the Federal Courts of the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Saltzman is fluent in both English and Hebrew.

 

Dmitry Besedin, of counsel to the firm, is a seasoned attorney admitted to practice in the Russian Federation, and specializing in the areas of Russian Commercial Law, International Private Law, Corporate Law, Insolvency, Law of Obligations, International Transactions, Russian and International Litigation and Arbitration. Dmitry is also licensed by the Appellate Division, First Department, of the New York Supreme Court to practice in the State of New York as a foreign legal consultant. In such capacity, he is able to advise American and foreign clients on various legal issues arising under the Russian and CIS law. He has counseled clients and represented their interests before the International Commercial Arbitration Court of the Chamber of Commerce of Russian Federation, Higher Arbitration Court, as well as the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. He has authored numerous articles on various legal topics and has published a book on Russian contract law. Dmitry received his law degree from the Moscow State University of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. Dmitry is a member of the New York State Bar Association, International Law & Practice Section. He is fluent in English and possesses a working knowledge of Portuguese.

 

Gabriel Freedman, of counsel to the firm,  is admitted to practice in Israel. Mr. Freedman, a graduate of Hebrew University in Jerusalem, has a broad range of legal experience with a strong emphasis on commercial litigation and real estate issues. Mr. Freedman, based in Israel, is fluent in Hebrew and English.
